The BodyFix Method — treating what others massage

A diagnosis-first approach that pairs deep manual connective tissue massage with lymphatic drainage — working with the tissue underneath, not just the surface.

A method built around connective tissue and fascia

The BodyFix Method was developed by Agnieszka Kadula, founder of BodyFix and developer of the method, who shaped the approach over years of working with connective tissue and fascia. It did not begin as a treatment menu. It began with a focus on complaints that many people find keep returning — dimpled skin, heavy legs, restricted tissue, fluid that struggles to move.

The approach looks beyond the surface and works with the connective tissue underneath it. BodyFix has been a specialised practice for connective tissue and fascia techniques in Amsterdam since 2008, and the method has been refined continuously since then. BodyFix is the longest-running specialised connective tissue practice in the city.

Today the method is delivered by medically trained therapists with a physiotherapy background and 2,500+ hours of training. It is not improvised from session to session — it follows a defined sequence, applied the same considered way each time.

Three steps, in this order

The BodyFix Method follows a deliberate sequence. We start with a diagnosis, then work on releasing the tissue, and then support drainage of what has been freed. The order is intentional: each step is designed to prepare the tissue for the next.

1

Bodyreading first

Before any hands-on work, we carry out a Bodyreading — a structured reading of your tissue, complaints and history. This diagnosis-first step helps us understand where the connective tissue feels restricted and where fluid is held, so we can tailor the treatment to your situation.

2

Releasing adhesions

Deep manual connective tissue massage works directly on the fascia and on adhesions in the tissue. Releasing these by hand is the craftsmanship at the heart of the method.

3

Lymphatic drainage

After the tissue work, device-assisted lymphatic drainage is used to support the movement of fluid. The two techniques are designed to complement each other in this order.

This pairing — deep manual connective tissue massage combined with device-assisted lymphatic drainage — is the signature of the method. You can read more about why we use the combination of lymphatic drainage and connective tissue massage as part of one approach.

Surface relaxation, or working with the tissue underneath

A regular massage is designed to relax. It works on muscle tension and can feel wonderful. The BodyFix Method is aimed one layer deeper, at the connective tissue and fascia that help give the body its structure.

  • A relaxing massage focuses on muscle; the BodyFix Method works with connective tissue and fascia.
  • A relaxing massage is about how you feel in the moment; the method is aimed at recurring complaints rooted in connective tissue.
  • A relaxing massage is often the same for everyone; the method begins with a Bodyreading and a plan tailored to your situation.
  • A relaxing massage stops at touch; the method combines manual work with lymphatic drainage.

Devices alone, or craftsmanship with the hands

Many beauty salons offer treatments for cellulite or skin firming that rely largely on machines and products. The BodyFix Method uses device-assisted lymphatic drainage too — but as the second part of the work. The first part is done by hand.

Releasing adhesions in connective tissue is skilled manual work. It relies on trained hands feeling where the tissue is bound and working it free. Our therapists bring a physiotherapy background and 2,500+ hours of training to that touch. BodyFix is a specialised treatment practice, not a salon.

Joints and muscles, or connective tissue and fascia

Physiotherapy and the BodyFix Method share some foundations — our therapists have a physiotherapy background — but they focus on different tissue. Physiotherapy typically works with muscles, joints and movement rehabilitation. The BodyFix Method focuses on connective tissue and fascia: the network that surrounds and connects everything else.

Because of that focus, the method is aimed at complaints where connective tissue, adhesions and fluid play a central role. It is a wellness and connective tissue treatment, not a medical or physiotherapy programme, and it does not replace medical care. For a medical diagnosis or condition, always consult your GP or a physiotherapist; the BodyFix Method can work alongside that care, not in place of it.

When the method may be a fit

The BodyFix Method is aimed at complaints involving connective tissue, fascia and fluid. It is often chosen by people dealing with:

  • Cellulite — working with the connective tissue beneath the skin rather than the surface alone.
  • Lipoedema, lymphoedema and oedema — combining manual work with lymphatic drainage to help support the movement of fluid. For these conditions we always recommend working alongside your GP or specialist.
  • Postpartum and pregnancy — gentle, considered support for tissue and fluid; we recommend checking with your midwife, GP or specialist first.
  • Scars, including after a C-section — working with scar tissue and the adhesions that can form around it.
  • Skin firming and general connective tissue restriction — aimed at the suppleness and freedom of the tissue.

Whether the method suits your specific situation is exactly what the Bodyreading is for. You can see the full range on our treatments page, or read more about BodyFix and how we work.

The BodyFix Method is a wellness and connective tissue treatment and does not replace medical advice or care. Results vary from person to person and depend on the complaint, lifestyle and consistency of treatment. After your consultation we will give you a realistic picture of what the method can do for you.
