Buccal massage
The only manual jawline lifting at therapeutic level — from the inside and outside.
Buccal massage
A defined jawline without injectables
The jawline does not disappear through ageing alone, but through connective tissue that slackens and jaw muscles that form adhesions. Buccal massage addresses this from the inside. By working via the inner cheeks, the therapist reaches layers of connective tissue and muscle tissue that external massage cannot reach. The result: a defined jawline, a firm facial profile — structural and lasting.
How it works
Why does buccal massage work for the jawline?
The jaw muscles (masseter) are the strongest muscles in the face. Through tension, teeth grinding and ageing they shorten and form adhesions with the surrounding connective tissue. This pulls the skin downwards and blurs the jawline.
Buccal massage resolves these adhesions via intra-oral pressure: from the inside the jaw muscle is released, the connective tissue around the jawline is freed. Combined with external connective tissue massage of the chin, cheek and neck, this produces a structural lifting effect that is visible from the outside.
Intra-oral treatment
Via the inside of the cheek, the jaw muscles and connective tissue around the jawline are released from within. Reaches deeper layers than external massage.
External connective tissue massage
Combined with deep external massage of the chin, cheek, temple and neck — the full facial profile is treated structurally.
Lifting effect
Released connective tissue lifts the facial tissue upwards. The jawline becomes defined, the facial profile firmer. Visible after 3–5 sessions.
The Bodyfix Method
Therapeutic level, not cosmetic
Buccal massage is offered in Amsterdam by many salons as a cosmetic treatment. At Bodyfix it is part of a therapeutic protocol: the Bodyfix Method, founded by Agnieszka Kadula on the basis of years of specialisation in deep connective tissue massage — since 2008.
We begin with a Bodyreading of the face: an analysis of jaw tension, connective tissue structure and complaints. This determines which zones require treatment and at what intensity. A personalised treatment plan then follows.
Our therapists are trained in the Bodyfix Method and have a minimum of 2,500 hours of practical experience. They treat the face as connective tissue — not as a surface.
Results
What can you expect?
We are honest about what buccal massage does and what it does not. It is not an alternative to surgery for severe skin laxity, but for structural improvement of the jawline and facial contour it is demonstrably effective.
First sessions
Jaw tension decreases. The face feels immediately lighter. The connective tissue begins to release. After just 1–2 sessions a temporary lifting effect is visible.
Visible results
The jawline becomes sharper. Adhesions in the cheek area dissolve. The facial profile is firmer and more defined — even without make-up.
Lasting effect
Structural restoration of the connective tissue in the face. Monthly maintenance sessions sustain the results.
Results depend on skin type, age, jaw tension and individual connective tissue structure. After your consultation we will give you a realistic picture.

Frequently asked questions
Everything about buccal massage at Bodyfix
What exactly is buccal massage? +
Buccal massage is a deep connective tissue massage of the face in which the jaw muscles, cheek muscles and the connective tissue around the jawline are treated both from the outside and from the inside — via the inner cheeks. The combination of intra-oral and external massage reaches layers that external massage alone cannot access.
How does buccal massage at Bodyfix differ from other providers? +
Bodyfix applies buccal massage as part of the Bodyfix Method: connective tissue massage at therapeutic level, performed by medically trained therapists with a minimum of 2,500 hours of practical experience. We combine the buccal technique with external connective tissue massage of the full face for structural and lasting results — not a one-off relaxation.
Is something placed inside the mouth during the treatment? +
Yes. The therapist puts on a treatment glove and works via the inside of the cheek. This is the core of the buccal technique: by massaging from the inside, the jaw muscles and connective tissue around the jawline are reached in a way that is not possible externally. Most clients adjust to this quickly.
How many treatments do I need? +
After 3–5 sessions a clear lifting effect is already visible. For structural and lasting results — a defined jawline and firmer skin — we recommend a course of 8–12 sessions. Monthly maintenance sessions are then sufficient to sustain the result.
Is buccal massage painful? +
The treatment is intensive and can feel uncomfortable, particularly with the intra-oral massage and where there are adhesions in the jaw area. It is not a relaxation massage. After the treatment the skin may feel warm or slightly sensitive — this passes quickly.
Who is buccal massage suitable for? +
Buccal massage is suitable for women who want a defined jawline and firm facial profile without injectables or surgical procedures. Also for jaw tension (bruxism), a sagging under-chin, or loss of facial contour due to ageing or weight change.
What is the difference between buccal massage and Kobido or a regular facial massage? +
Kobido is a Japanese relaxation massage focused on circulation and glow. Buccal massage targets specifically the connective tissue and jaw musculature — from the inside and outside. It works structurally deeper and is aimed at a defined jawline and lifting effect, not relaxation.
