The free intake and Bodyreading

Every journey begins with a free 20-minute intake. This is a calm conversation in which we listen to your wishes. Part of it is the Bodyreading: we «read» the body and feel where the fascia is stiff, tense or less supple. This diagnosis-first approach belongs to the BodyFix Method — we look at the whole first, before any first treatment takes place. The intake is without obligation: you decide afterwards whether and when you want to continue. Discover the complete BodyFix Method.

  • Free intake (20 min) — without obligation and no commitment

  • Bodyreading: the body is «read» before the first treatment

  • Diagnosis-first: we tailor the approach to what we feel and see

At BodyFix — specialised in connective tissue and fascia techniques since 2008 — that personal attunement is central. The Bodyreading is not a medical diagnosis, but a way to tailor the treatment to you. Want to know more about what a treatment involves? Read our frequently asked questions about the treatment.

The treatment: deep and targeted

After the intake comes the treatment itself. The core is a deep manual connective tissue massage aimed at the fascia, with the goal of making stiff, tense tissue feel more supple. Where appropriate, we combine this with device-assisted lymphatic drainage — that is the combination treatment within the BodyFix Method. A session lasts 30, 60 or 90 minutes, depending on what we discussed during the intake and what suits you. Because everything in your body is connected, we sometimes focus on a different zone than where you experience the complaint.

1

Deep connective tissue massage

Targeted manual techniques are aimed at the fascia, to gradually make stiff, tense tissue feel more supple.

2

Lymphatic drainage where suitable

Where appropriate we add device-assisted lymphatic drainage — the combination treatment of the BodyFix Method.

3

Duration tailored to you

A session lasts 30, 60 or 90 minutes, attuned to what was discussed during the intake and what suits you.

Aftercare and what you may feel

After a session, sensible aftercare helps give your body room. Drink enough water, keep moving gently and allow yourself some rest. Some women feel a little soreness or tiredness briefly after a deep treatment; this is usually short-lived. Do not plan heavy exertion straight afterwards and listen to what you feel. After the session we discuss what is sensible in your situation — honestly, and without promises about a fixed result. Want to know in advance how you might feel? Read our explanation of pain and side effects.

Do

Water & rest

Drink enough water and allow yourself rest after the session, so your body can respond smoothly to the treatment.

Move

Move gently

Light movement keeps the tissue active; better to save heavy exertion for a day later.

Good to know

Brief adjustment

Sometimes brief soreness or tiredness — usually short-lived. Listen to your body and take your time.

When to see a doctor first

A treatment at BodyFix is meant to make your tissue feel more supple and give you a relaxed feeling, not to diagnose or cure a complaint. Do you have persistent pain, tingling, radiating complaints or a suspicion of a medical cause? Then have it assessed by a doctor or specialist first. After that you can look with peace of mind at what a treatment journey can mean for your feeling of suppleness and relaxation. Want more background? Then read about BodyFix.

Frequently asked questions about the treatment journey

How does a first appointment at BodyFix work?

A first appointment begins with a free 20-minute intake. In it we calmly discuss your wishes and what you expect, and we carry out a Bodyreading: we 'read' the body to see where the tissue feels stiff or tense before any first treatment takes place. From that diagnosis-first approach we explain which approach may suit you and how much time a session takes. You are not committed to anything: the intake is without obligation and you decide afterwards whether and when you book a treatment.

Is the intake really free and what does the Bodyreading involve?

Yes, the 20-minute intake is free and without obligation. During the Bodyreading we look at your posture and feel where the fascia is stiff, tense or less supple. In this way we map out what is going on and how it is connected, before we propose a first treatment. The Bodyreading is not a medical diagnosis, but a way to tailor the treatment to you. If you have a complaint with a possible medical cause, have it assessed by a doctor first.

What does a treatment cost and is it reimbursed?

A connective tissue massage costs €65 (30 min), €130 (60 min) or €195 (90 min); as a 5-strip card respectively €300, €600 or €900. A single lymphatic drainage (30 min) is €45, with a 5-strip card for €200. The combination treatment of connective tissue massage and lymphatic drainage costs €110 (30 min), €175 (60 min) or €240 (90 min). The free 20-minute intake is included and a strip card is valid up to 10 weeks after the first treatment.

What is sensible aftercare following a connective tissue massage?

After a treatment it helps to drink enough water, keep moving gently and allow yourself some rest. Some women feel a little soreness or tiredness briefly after a deep session; this is usually short-lived. Listen to your body and do not plan heavy exertion straight afterwards. During the free intake and after the session we explain what you can expect and what is sensible in your situation, without promises about a fixed result.
