Manual or machine-assisted lymphatic drainage? By hand, or in the suit.
Lymphatic drainage can be performed by hand (manually) or using a machine, in the suit. Both support the natural removal of fluid, but they feel different and suit different situations. Here we explain the difference and when BODYFIX uses each form.
Manual lymphatic drainage: by hand
In manual lymphatic drainage, the therapist works with their hands. It is a gentle, rhythmic technique. The therapist feels how the tissue responds and focuses on one area. Many people also call this lymphatic drainage massage.
At BODYFIX, manual lymphatic drainage is the first stage after liposuction or another procedure, often starting in the same week. Connective tissue massage follows once everything has healed well. You book it as After Liposuction: 30 minutes per zone, €70.
In Pregnancy Massage, we also work gently by hand, using connective tissue massage and lymphatic drainage, from 14 weeks.
Machine-assisted lymphatic drainage: in the suit
In machine-assisted lymphatic drainage, also called pressotherapy, a machine does the work. At BODYFIX, we place cuffs around your legs and abdomen. Together, they form a suit reaching just below your chest. The cuffs gradually build and release pressure, repeatedly. We adjust the pressure to your comfort.
A treatment takes 30 minutes and costs €45. A series of 5 costs €200, or €40 per session. You can book it on its own or with connective tissue massage in one appointment: The Ultimate BODYFIX Massage, from €115. Lymphatic drainage in the suit takes place at Legmeerplein 7H, where the machines are located.

What lymphatic drainage does and does not do
Lymphatic drainage supports the natural removal of fluid. We do not promise more than that. It is not a treatment for a condition such as lymphoedema.
Do you have swelling that develops suddenly, is on one side or does not go away? Have your GP assess it first.
